In class we discussed the terms “resolve” and “resolution” as commitments for a brand new year. Please share your thoughts on one, some, or all of the following considerations:

How could we change our lives so that we wouldn’t have to make new resolutions each year?
How can new year resolutions be beneficial?
How could new year resolutions create complications?
What are your new year resolutions, and how do you plan to keep them?

Students, please post your cinquain poems formatted like this:

Line 1: One noun, the subject of your poem

Line 2: Two adjectives about the noun in line one

Line 3: Three participles (verbs ending in -ing)

Line 4: A feeling phrase or metaphoric phrase

Line 5: One noun, a synonym that restates the noun in line one
